WaterColor is a very charming resort and residential town of more than 499 acres on 30A that nestles into its natural surroundings and creates a welcoming place for all. WaterColor has thoughtfully planned neighborhoods, parks and trails that are located between the Gulf of Mexico and Western Lake, a natural 220 acre coastal dune lake. WaterColor features nearly 1,200 homes and homesites as well as a 60 room boutique inn which has been awarded the region’s only AAA Four Diamond hotel award. Fish Out of Water, the WaterColor Inn’s AAA Four Diamond restaurant features stunning views with its superb cuisine and impressive wine list.
The homes pay tribute to houses found throughout the coastal region and are a combination of Spanish, Dutch, English and French Colonial architectural designs. Neighborhoods weave among the surrounding landscape and natural paths beckon residents to walk and appreciate all that WaterColor has to offer. Residents and visitors can explore Western Lake by kayak, canoe or sailboat. Or, you may do your exploring of the lake area by walking or biking along the paths and woodland trails. There are a number of neighborhood swimming pools, parks and gardens to enjoy. WaterColor features golf, tennis facilities, kid and teen programming at Camp WaterColor, galleries shops and dining options. Wine World at WaterColor seems to always have a nice crowd enjoying a glass of wine with some nibbles while taking in the scenery.
A lot of folks choose to enjoy a little quiet time and take a kayak or canoe and do some fishing on the calming waters of Western Lake to reconnect with nature. The 18 mile biking trail that stretches from Dune Allen Beach to Inlet Beach is, happily, in constant use by folks who travel by bike while at 30A. Good for them and good for the environment as well!
Take my advice and be sure to check out WaterColor while you are here. I like to go to WaterColor every now and then to walk and take time to enjoy their gardens, water features and green spaces. I am always glad that I took the time because I emerge from WaterColor feeling refreshed and feeling that all is right with the world.
